Come learn to identify some of the tree species in Kentucky while creating a piece of art at the Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge Education Center. Different mediums and projects will be available for all ages and abilities.
Drop in between 10 am - 1 pm. This event is free and no registration is required.
Indoor bathrooms and an air conditioned space available.
Park at the main parking lot (660 Carpenter Creek Road, Parksville, KY 40464) and take a short walk up the gravel path to find the Education Center. The Education Center is wheelchair accessible with prior arrangement (contact ckwr.ed.director@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the event).
Available activities:
* Leaf rubbings to create stationary, note cards, and googly eye creatures
* Zen doodling: Circular leaf drawings with markers and colored pencils - use dot markers, a provided outline or try freehand
* Free drawing and painting with pastels, colored pencils, and watercolors - local artists David Farmer and David Clarke will be on hand to guide you through creating scenes based on what you see at the Refuge
