Baby Lapsit
Monday, January 29th at 10:30 a.m.

Baby Lapsit focuses on early literacy skills and is designed for infants up to 12 months and their caregivers. During the program, babies sit on their caregiver's lap and interact with them while enjoying rhyming songs, finger plays, and short stories designed with babies in mind. The Baby Lapsit program will meet on Mondays at 10:30 am in the Children's Storytime Room at the Library and run through February 19th. Registration is required.

Tween Writing
Monday, January 29th at 4:00 p.m.

On Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., the Library will host a writing group for tweens. Participants will have fun with creative writing using prompts and writing games. This month tweens will create book spine poetry. For ages 9-13.


Kid’s Science Club
Tuesday, January 30th at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. the Library will host a Kid's Science Club. Children will perform winter-themed science experiments, including arctic slime, crystal snowflakes, and snow in a jar. This program is for ages 6-8 and will run on Tuesday afternoons for four weeks. Registration is required. Call the Library to register.

Now Playing Night
Thursday, February 1st at 4:00 p.m.

On Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. the Library will host "Now Playing Night," a fun afternoon where tweens can hang out the Library playing board games and watching a movie. This month, we’ll show Cars 3, an animated film from 2017 about a race car out to prove he still has what it takes to win the Piston Cup. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. For ages 9-13.


Kid’s Homeschool Book Club
Friday, February 2nd at 2:00 p.m.

The Kid's Homeschool Book Club will meet on Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Led by Children's Librarian Libby McWhorter, this book club is designed for children ages 5-8 and features a book discussion and trivia activities.  This month, participants are reading Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. Snacks will be served. Register for this club in the Children’s Library.


Friday, February 2nd at 4:00 p.m.

The Library will host LEGO Club on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in the Storytime Room. The finished LEGO creations will be placed on display in the Children’s Library.


Lunch & Learn: Financial Literacy
Friday, February 2nd at Noon

On Friday at noon, the Library will host a Lunch & Learn program on financial literacy and organization. Bring your lunch and learn about financial basics, including organizing your financial documents. This program will be led by financial advisor Dawn Nelson.


Protect Your History: Encapsulate a Document
Saturday, February 3rd at 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m., the Library will host "How to Encapsulate a Document," part of the "Protect Your History" monthly workshop series offered at the Library. This month Mary Girard will show participants how to protect fragile documents.


United Way Tax Preparation Assistance
Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Tax prep help will be available by appointment only on Saturdays through United Way AmeriCorps VITA Tax Preparation Assistance. To make an appointment call 211 or 1-866-353-6354 or go to for an appointment.



Meditation Monday
Monday, January 29th at 6:30 p.m.

On Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. the Library will provide a quiet space in the Mahan Gallery for anyone wanting to practice meditation. All levels are welcome to attend.
