Kentucky Writers' Day: "Writers Tribute" to be Held at the Library

As part of the 2017 Kentucky Writers' Day Celebration Weekend, the Boyle County Public Library will host a "Writers Tribute" on Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Over twenty authors, poets, writers, playwrights, and journalists with a Kentucky connection will be reading from original works. In addition, there will be book signings by various authors at this free event.

Kentucky Writers' Day was established in 1990 by the Kentucky General Assembly to honor Kentucky’s strong literary tradition and to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Robert Penn Warren, the first poet laureate of the United States and winner of three Pulitzer prizes.

The 2017 Kentucky Writers' Day Celebration Weekend will run April 23-30 at various locations throughout Danville and at historic Penn's Store in Gravel Switch. A complete listing of the schedule of events can be found online at
