Computer Classes in March

The Boyle County Public Library offers free computer classes every month. The computer classes to be held at the Library in March include:

• Computer Basics on Thursday, March 3rd at 11:45 am

Basic elements of the Windows PC operating system, including using a mouse/keyboard; highlighting, copying, and pasting text; common menus, toolbars, and shortcuts; overview of software and storage media.


• Facebook on Thursday, March 3rd at 4:00 pm

Facebook is a popular social networking site that allows you to connect with everyone.  You will be able to set your privacy and account settings to your specific needs.  Learn how to upload pictures; update your status; and search for family and friends. (2-hour workshop)

• Windows 10 on Tuesday, March 8th at 11:00 am

An introduction to the new Windows 10 operating system. This class provides an overview of some of the changes in the start menu, pinning apps, task view, file explorer, and new Edge internet browser. (Computer Basics recommended.)

• Introduction to Microsoft Excel on Tuesday, March 8th at 3:00 pm

This class covers the basic functions of Excel, the spreadsheet, including screen and worksheet elements; copying and pasting; auto-fill; and using mathematical formulas and functions. (Intro. to Microsoft Word recommended.)

• Job Seeking on Wednesday, March 9th at 11:00 am

An overview of some resources available to job seekers.  (Computer and Internet Basics recommended.)


• iPad & iPhone on Wednesday, March 9th at 3:00 pm

Bring your iPad or iPhone to class to learn the basics or for some new tips. This class is also appropriate for those considering purchasing one of these devices.

• Internet Basics on Wednesday, March 16th at 2:00 pm

This class provides a basic introduction to the internet. Class includes getting online with web addresses; an understanding of basic terminology; and using search engines to find information and websites.

• eBooks: Overdrive Online Library on Tuesday, March 22nd at 11:00 am

Learn how to check out and download thousands of eBooks and Audio Books from the Library’s collection for free.  Bring your eReader device and valid library card with you for check out.
