As part of the Summer Reading Program, the Boyle County Public Library will be hosting a three-part series in July called “Local Heroes Keep Us Safe.” The series will bring local firefighters and law enforcement officers to the Library so patrons of all ages can learn more about these local heroes and how they help our community.

Boyle County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit Demonstration

The first event in the series will be held on on Wednesday, July 8th at 2:00 pm when Boyle County Deputy Sheriff and K-9 handler Derrick Robbins demonstrates how Djanco, a full-service police K-9, keeps the community safe.

City of Danville Fire Department "Touch a Truck"

The second event in this three-part series will be held on Wednesday, July 15th at 2:00 pm when the City of Danville Fire Department brings “Touch a Truck” to the Library. Children will be able to explore the fire truck and learn about the tools and uniforms used by these local heroes.

Danville Police Department Demonstration

The final event in this three-part series will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd at 2:00 pm when the Danville Police Department visits the Library. Children will be able to explore the police car and learn about the tools law enforcement officers use to keep us safe.
