The Boyle County Public Library with the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County announce the opening of a spring-themed art exhibit in the Mahan Gallery at the Library. "April Showers Bring May Flowers" will be on display through the end of April. An Artist Reception will be held at the Library in the Mahan Gallery on Monday, April 6th from 6:30–8:00 p.m.

The exhibit features a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics, and photography. The exhibit is both an opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work in a beautiful space as well as a treat for area residents to view art in the comfortable surroundings of the library.

"The Arts Commission partnered with the Boyle County Public Library to present several exhibits last year," says Ann Nichols, Executive Director of the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County.  "We are excited to continue that partnership. What better place to exhibit local art than in our local library.  After this winter, it will be a delight to look at images of spring!"

The Arts Commission is non-profit organization that promotes all local artists and arts organizations and provides opportunities for Danville/Boyle County to experience the arts.  Their Arts Scholarship Program has awarded more than $23,000 to local children who need financial assistance to participate in the arts.  More information about the Arts Commission, their Arts Scholarship Program, and their scholarship fundraiser the Art-full Raffle is available at www.dbc-arts.org.
