Spring Film Series: Biopics

March 16, 2015

The Friends of the Library Spring Film Series kicks off on Thursday, March 19th at 7:00 pm in the Community Room at the Library. This film series will feature a selection of biopics. Some of Hollywood's best and most beloved films fall into the category of "biopics," a genre broadly defined as the story of someone's life told with more or less accuracy. Biopics can also overlap with other genres, including musicals, war movies, and dramas.

The films, which feature well known directors and award-winning actors, will be introduced each evening by Charles Vahlkamp, professor emeritus at Centre College. There is no charge for admission, and free popcorn will be available. The film series will run on most Thursday evenings through May 7, 2015.

Due to licensing restrictions, the use of the film titles is prohibited outside of the Library. However, the descriptions of the films are listed below, and inquiring minds can find out what movies will be shown by either visiting or calling the Library.
