"Women of Written Words" Panel Discussion
Monday, March 26th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

On Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Library will host "Women of Written Words," a panel discussion featuring local writers. The panel will include Bobbie Curd, Heather Henson, Yolantha Harrison-Pace, Liz Orndorff, and Patsi Trollinger. These successful published writers will discuss their work and the paths they took to reach their goals. This event will be moderated by Mimi Becker, and is sponsored by the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County, Hertage Business and Professional Women, and the Boyle County Public Library.

The discussion will be held in the Community Room at the Library, and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Reservations to attend may be made at arts@historicdanvillky.com or by calling or texting Mimi Becker at (859) 691-0316.




Tween Writing Group
Monday, March 26th at 4:00 p.m.

On Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., the Library will host a writing group for tweens. Participants will have fun with creative writing using prompts and writing games. This month tweens will learn different techniques for bullet journals. For ages 9-13.

 

Adulting: Spring Cleaning
Monday, March 26th at 6:00 p.m.

On Monday evening at 6:00 p.m., the Library will host "Adulting," a monthly program series that explores the different skills adults need to thrive. This month, participants will discover that spring is the perfect time to de-clutter and clean a home from top to bottom. They’ll learn easy organizing tips and ways to clean with green cleaning products. This program is offered in partnership with the Boyle County Extension Office and will be held in the Mahan Gallery at the Library.

 

Virtual Field Trip: Beyond the Battlefield
Thursday, March 29th at 4:30 p.m.

The Library will host a Virtual Field Trip on Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. This event will take patrons on a virtual tour of the new Museum of the American Revolution, and is hosted by Lauren Tarshis, author of the best-selling I Survived book series, and produced by Scholastic. In addition to the virtual tour, related activities and snacks will be provided.

 

Spring Film Series: Variety Showcase (Week 2)
Thursday, March 29th at 7:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Library continue with their annual Spring Film Series on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Films will be shown on Thursday evenings in the Community Room through the end of April. The post-film discussion will be led by Charles Vahlkamp. Popcorn will be available and there is no charge for admission.

This week we'll be showing Double Indemnity (1944), a film about a seductive blonde and an insurance salesman who concoct a plan to murder her husband.
