Tween Advisory Group (TAG)
Monday, February 5th at 4:00 p.m.

Tween Advisory Group will meet on Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. TAG provides a way for tweens to have fun planning events while volunteering their time at the library. This month participants will plan upcoming events and make emoji bookmarks. For more information about tween programs, see Ms. Kinsey Hisle in the Children’s Library. For ages 9-13.


Kid’s Science Club
Tuesday, February 6th at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., the Library will host a Kid's Science Club. Children will perform winter-themed science experiments, including arctic slime, crystal snowflakes, and snow in a jar. This program is for ages 6-8 and will run on Tuesday afternoons for four weeks. Registration is required. Call the Library to register.


Teen Tech Review: Digital Comics
Tuesday, February 6th at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., the Library will host Teen Tech Review, a new monthly program that looks at different technology and how it affects teens. This month's review will focus on Digital Comics. Teens can learn to use Google's Storyboard and Comic Life, as well as explore the Library's growing collection of graphic novels. This program will be held in the BCPL Computer Lab. For ages 13-18.


French Café
Monday, February 5th at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday evening at 5:00 p.m., the Library will host French Café. At this "community requested-community led" program, people of all ages can gather together in a relaxed atmosphere to practice speaking French in casual conversation. This event is great for those who are fluent speakers as well as for those who are just learning the language. The French Café will be held in the Mahan Gallery at the Library.


Drop-In Computer Help Session
Wednesday, February 7th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon

The Library will offer a Drop-in Computer Help Session in the Computer Lab at the Library on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. This free walk-in session is for anyone who has a quick question about computer programs or technology, and is a great way to get answers about any type of mobile device. Additional drop-in sessions will be held throughout the month. If more in-depth help is required, the Library also offers one-on-one appointments. City of Danville Community Blood Drive
Wednesday, February 7th from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The City of Danville Community Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Library. For more information and to register to donate, go to or call 800.775.2522.


Medicare Made Clear
Thursday, February 8th at 6:00 p.m.

On Thursday, February 8 at 6:00 p.m., the Library will host "Medicare Made Clear," an interactive, educational seminar that will cover the basics of Medicare. Presented by Richard Manarchy, attendees will gain an understanding of Medicare parts A, B, C, and D, including who is eligible, coverage options, enrollment times, and what to do next.


Coloring & Conversation
Thursday, February 8th at 6:00 p.m.

The Library will host a coloring club for adults on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. Many adults have rediscovered the joys of coloring as a way to relax and combat stress. The club, which is done in partnership with the Boyle County Cooperative Extension office, meets on the second Thursday of the month in the Mahan Gallery.



The AARP Foundation and the United Way will offer tax preparation help at the Library on Tuesdays and Saturdays, respectively. This assistance will continue through early April.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Services
Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Walk-ins only)

Available to taxpayers with low to moderate income, with special attention given to those who are age 60 and older. This walk-in service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wanting to use this service will need to bring the previous year's tax return, a photo ID, and social security card.


United Way AmeriCorps Tax Preparation Assistance
Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (By appointment only)
