This Week at the Library: November 20-26

The Boyle County Public Library offers many fun, educational events throughout the year. Weekly programs include Adult Storytime on Mondays at 9:00 a.m., Crafters Who Care on Mondays at 6:00 p.m., Coding Classes on Mondays and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m., and Storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. In addition to these weekly events, the following Library-sponsored programs are scheduled for this week:


Tween Book Club
Monday, November 20th at 4:00 p.m.

The Library offers a monthly book club for tweens (ages 9-13). On Monday afternoon tweens can read and bring in any realistic fiction book to discuss with others while participating in themed activities. Snacks will be available.


Kid’s Book Club (Week 6)
Tuesday, November 21st at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday afternoon the Library will host the final week of the Kid’s Book Club. The club is recommended for children who are in grades 1-3. This week we’ll be reading the Geronimo Stilton book, The Cheese Experiment by Elisabetta Dami. Children are invited to come discuss the book, participate in themed games and crafts, and enjoy snacks. Registration is required.


Closed for Thanksgiving

The Library will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd for the Thanksgiving holiday. .


The History of the Orphan Train
Sunday, November 26th at 3:00 p.m.

On Sunday afternoon the Library will host "The History of the Orphan Train" featuring playwright Liz Orndorff. Learn about the history of the Orphan Train Movement, which operated in the United Stated and Canada between 1854 and 1929. This event is a companion program to West T. Hill Community Theatre’s Christmas musical, The Orphan Train, by Liz Orndorff and Scott Brown.
