Computer Classes in June

The Boyle County Public Library offers free computer classes every month. The computer classes to be held at the Library in June include:

• Facebook on Monday, June 20th at 11:00 am

Facebook is a popular social networking site that allows you to connect with others. Learn how to upload pictures; update your status; set your privacy and account settings; and search for family and friends. If you already have a Facebook account, please bring your account login information. (Basic computer and internet skills recommended.)

• Introduction to Microsoft Word on Monday, June 20th at 2:00 pm

This class teaches basic word processing using Microsoft Word. It covers using the ribbon; creating, saving, and printing documents; highlighting, copying, and pasting text; formatting lists; checking spelling and grammar; creating tables; applying headers and footers; and using and creating templates.  (Computer Basics recommended.)

• Android Tablets & Smartphones on Tuesday, June 21st at 2:00 pm

This class will cover a basic introduction to tablets and phones with the Android operating system (NOT iPad/iPhone). Topics covered will include touch gestures, settings menus, and how to download apps. Bring your own device for the best experience!

 • Digital Photos on Wednesday, June 22nd at 4:00 pm

Learn the basics of using your smartphone to take, store, and print photos. Participants will receive a tutorial on how to safely save images to their computer as well as everyday uses for their phone’s camera.
