Computer Classes in April

The Boyle County Public Library offers free computer classes every month. The computer classes to be held at the Library in April include:

 

 

• Resume Writing Workshop on Wednesday, April 6th at 3:00 pm

An overview of some resources available to job seekers.  (Computer and Internet Basics recommended.)


• Facebook on Wednesday, April 13th at 4:00 pm

Facebook is a popular social networking site that allows you to connect with everyone.  You will be able to set your privacy and account settings to your specific needs.  Learn how to upload pictures; update your status; and search for family and friends. Bring your account log-in information. (2-hour workshop)


• Windows 10 on Thursday, April 14th at 1:30 pm

An introduction to the new Windows 10 operating system. This class provides an overview of some of the changes in the start menu, pinning apps, task view, file explorer, and new Edge internet browser. (Computer Basics recommended.)


• iPad & iPhone on Thursday, April 14th at 5:00 pm

Bring your iPad or iPhone to class to learn the basics or for some new tips. This class is also appropriate for those considering purchasing one of these devices.


• Email Basics on Monday, April 18th at 2:00 pm

This class will provide new computer users with some basic skills to set up and use an email account, including sending email and adding attachments. (Internet Basics recommended.)


• Internet Basics on Tuesday, April 19th at 3:00 pm

This class provides a basic introduction to the internet. Class includes getting online with web addresses; an understanding of basic terminology; and using search engines to find information and websites.


• Introduction to Microsoft Word on Wednesday, April 20th at 11:00 am

This class teaches basic word processing using MS Word including using the ribbon; creating, saving, and printing documents; highlighting, copying, and pasting text; formatting lists; checking spelling and grammar; creating tables; applying headers and footers; using and creating templates. (Computer Basics recommended.)
