Shaker Village: Past and Present

The Friends of the Library will continue with their Spring Program Series with "Shaker Village: Past and Present" on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the Community Room at the Library. Elizabeth Kennan Burns, chair of the non-profit board of Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, will highlight the historical importance of Shaker Village, as well as the preservation and conservation activities that are taking place.


Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is America’s largest restored Shaker village. With thirty-four original 19th century buildings on nearly 3000 acres of farmland and natural habitats, Shaker Village is a major tourist destination for Kentucky.
